Find Your Nearest StoreCracked glass, dead pixels, or a display that won’t respond to touch? Case Indulgence’s Taigum store replaces screens on iPhone, Samsung and most Android phones — most fixed same day, with a free diagnostic before you pay a cent.
Phone screen replacement is the removal and replacement of a cracked, malfunctioning, or discoloured display — including the glass, digitiser (touch layer), and in most modern phones, the OLED/AMOLED panel underneath — with a genuine or OEM-grade part. Case Indulgence replaces screens at our Taigum store in Brisbane’s north, as well as at 13 other stores across Queensland and New South Wales.
Most repair shops quote “screen replacement” as a single flat price, whether it’s a $40 glass-only fix or a $400 full-panel swap. That’s misleading, because the glass and the display are usually one bonded unit on modern phones — you can’t replace just the top layer. That’s the gap this page fills — starting with what you’re actually paying for.
Spiderweb cracks, missing shards, or glass lifting at the edges — even hairline cracks let dust and moisture reach the display underneath.
Dead zones where taps don’t register usually mean the digitiser layer is damaged, even if the glass looks intact.
Pressure damage to the OLED/AMOLED panel from a drop, often without any visible glass cracking.
Usually a damaged display driver or a loose display flex cable behind the panel.
Rings, vibrates, or you can hear notifications, but nothing shows — often a full panel failure rather than a software issue.
Deep scratches that catch a fingernail reduce touch accuracy over time and are worth replacing before they crack further.
A lifting edge or visible gap is a sign of internal swelling (often battery-related) or adhesive failure — don’t ignore this.
Can indicate a failing display panel or, after a prior third-party repair, a screen that was never properly colour-calibrated.
On almost every phone made since 2018, the protective glass, the touch-sensing digitiser, and the OLED/AMOLED display are bonded into a single unit at the factory. A crack in the outer glass doesn’t mean only the glass is damaged — the impact travels through to the display layer underneath, which is why a “small” crack can still cause dead pixels or touch issues you don’t notice for a few days.
The price gap almost always comes down to the panel technology, not the glass. A cheap “compatible” aftermarket LCD panel can replace a broken OLED screen and make the phone functional again — but you’ll lose true blacks, get a dimmer display in sunlight, and on some phones, lose Face ID or in-screen fingerprint function entirely. A genuine or OEM-grade OLED replacement preserves all of that, which is why it costs more. Ask any repairer directly which type they’re quoting — most won’t volunteer it unless you ask.
Curved-edge screens (common on Samsung Galaxy S and Note models) are also more expensive to replace than flat screens, because the curve requires a more complex bonding process and higher rate of part wastage during manufacturing.
Not every screen problem needs a full replacement. Here’s what to check yourself first — it costs nothing and takes five minutes:
If none of these fix it, the issue is almost certainly hardware — and that’s where we come in.
Message us on WhatsApp or email with your phone model and a photo of the damage. We’ll tell you upfront which part tier fits your situation.
Bring your phone to our Taigum store (or nearest location). We confirm whether it’s glass-only, digitiser, or full panel damage before quoting.
You choose between OEM-grade and standard parts where available, with the price difference explained clearly — no pressure either way.
Most screen replacements are completed same day. Every repair is tested before handover — touch response, colour accuracy, Face ID/fingerprint if applicable.
We’d rather tell you not to spend money than sell you a replacement you’ll regret. Here’s the honest breakdown:
| Situation | Worth replacing? |
|---|---|
| Recent flagship (last 2–3 years), cracked screen, phone otherwise fine | Yes — repair cost is well under replacement value |
| Touch not responding in specific areas only | Yes — usually a contained digitiser fault, cheaper than you’d expect |
| Budget phone 4+ years old, screen cracked | Maybe not — replacement cost can approach the price of a new entry-level phone |
| Screen fine but scratched only (no cracks, touch works) | Skip it — a screen protector solves this for a fraction of the cost |
| Screen cracked and phone is under 12 months old | Yes — but check your manufacturer warranty or insurance first, it may be free |
If your phone is old enough that the screen repair quote is close to half the price of a refurbished replacement phone, ask us directly — we’ll tell you honestly if it’s a false economy. This is the kind of call most repair counters won’t make for you.

| Foldable hinge/crease screen | $349 – $599 depending on model and fold generation | ||
Prices are typical ranges based on model and part tier. Final price is confirmed after your free in-store diagnostic — we never charge more than the quote we give you.
Screen replacement at Case Indulgence Taigum typically ranges from $59 for a glass-only fix on older models to $599 for a genuine-equivalent foldable panel. The exact price depends on your phone model and whether you choose standard or OEM-grade parts.
Glass-only repair replaces just the outer protective layer and is only possible on a small number of older phone models where the glass isn’t bonded to the display. On most phones made since 2018, the glass, digitiser and display panel are one sealed unit, so any crack requires a full screen replacement.
A standard aftermarket screen will restore full function, but may show dimmer brightness, less accurate colour, or lose Face ID/in-screen fingerprint support depending on the model. We explain the trade-off for your specific phone before you decide, so you’re not guessing.
Most screen replacements are completed the same day, often within 1–2 hours, at our Taigum store. Foldable hinge screens can take longer if parts need to be ordered in.
It can, if the replacement isn’t properly calibrated. We re-pair Face ID and in-screen fingerprint sensors as part of every relevant screen replacement, and will tell you upfront if your specific phone model has any known limitation with aftermarket parts.
It depends on the replacement cost versus the phone’s current value, not just its age. If the quote is close to half the price of a refurbished newer phone, ask us directly — we’ll give you an honest answer instead of just booking the job.
