Every LG phone in use today is at least 3–4 years old, since LG stopped manufacturing new phones in 2021. That alone means batteries in the vast majority of LG phones being brought in for repair are already past or approaching their expected lifespan, regardless of the specific fault reported.
Since LG no longer manufactures replacement parts, screens and batteries for LG phones come from two sources: existing new-old-stock inventory, or parts salvaged/refurbished from other LG devices. Popular models like the LG G7, G8, V40 and V60 still have reasonably available stock. Less common models, or ones with unique features like the V-series dual screen or Wing’s swivel display, can have limited part availability, which pushes cost and repair time up. We check real part availability for your exact model before quoting — not after you’ve already committed.
This isn’t unique to LG — every discontinued phone brand eventually faces this. It’s just more relevant to LG right now than to Samsung, Apple, or Google, whose current-generation phones still have an active manufacturing supply chain.
