iPad repair is the diagnosis and fixing of hardware faults on Apple iPad devices — screens, batteries, charging ports, cameras and water damage — using genuine or OEM-grade parts. An iPad’s screen is bonded to the frame with significantly more adhesive than a phone, because the larger glass surface needs stronger sealing to stay flat and water-resistant. That adhesive has to be carefully heated and removed without damaging the digitiser cables running underneath — a slower, more delicate process than a phone screen swap.
Unlike an iPhone, where the battery sits in its own compartment, an iPad’s battery is a set of multiple long adhesive-glued cells that run almost the full length of the case, directly underneath the screen. Replacing it means removing the screen first, carefully lifting each cell with heat and isopropyl alcohol to avoid puncturing them, then resealing everything. This is why an iPad battery replacement usually takes 24–48 hours rather than the same-day turnaround typical of an iPhone battery swap — and why a shop quoting “same day” for an iPad battery is worth asking more questions about.
On iPad Pro models with Face ID and a laminated Liquid Retina display, screen and digitiser are a single sealed unit — there’s no “glass-only” option, and colour/brightness calibration is more involved than on non-Pro models.
