LG Phone Repair Brisbane

Cracked screen, dead battery, or an LG phone that won’t charge? Case Indulgence’s Taigum store repairs LG G-series, V-series and legacy K-series phones — with an honest, upfront assessment of whether parts are available before you commit to anything.

LG phone repair is the diagnosis and fixing of hardware faults on LG smartphones — screens, batteries, charging ports, cameras and water damage — using genuine or OEM-grade parts where available. Case Indulgence repairs LG phones at our Taigum store in Brisbane’s north, as well as at 13 other stores across Queensland and New South Wales.

Here’s what most repair pages won’t tell you upfront: LG exited the smartphone business globally in 2021 and hasn’t released a new phone since. That doesn’t mean your LG phone can’t be repaired — plenty are still running well and are absolutely worth fixing — but it does mean part availability varies a lot more by model than it does for iPhone or Samsung. That’s the gap this page fills, starting with an honest look at what’s realistic to repair.

COMMON PROBLEMS

Signs Your LG Phone Needs a Repair

Cracked or shattered screen

Spiderweb cracks, missing glass, or a display that’s gone completely dark after a drop.

Screen shows lines, discolouration, or flicker

Common on older LG OLED panels (G7 onward) as the display driver ages, even without a visible crack.

Battery drains fast or phone shuts off randomly

Most LG phones in use today are 3+ years old, which puts battery degradation well within the expected range.

Won’t charge, or charging is intermittent

Often lint or corrosion in the USB-C port rather than a failed battery — this is the #1 “try this first” fix below.

Phone gets hot while charging

Can indicate a swelling or failing battery cell, especially on models now 4+ years old — stop charging it until checked.

Camera is blurry or won’t focus

Common after a drop, even without visible screen damage — more noticeable on multi-camera V-series and Velvet models.

Water exposure (pool, rain, toilet)

Water resistance on older LG models degrades with age regardless of original IP rating — assume damage if submerged over a minute.

Second screen or Dual Screen accessory not connecting (V-series)

Usually a connector or software pairing issue rather than a fault with the phone itself — worth a free diagnostic before assuming the worst.

WHY IT HAPPENS

Why LG Phone Repairs Work Differently Now Than They Used To

Every LG phone in use today is at least 3–4 years old, since LG stopped manufacturing new phones in 2021. That alone means batteries in the vast majority of LG phones being brought in for repair are already past or approaching their expected lifespan, regardless of the specific fault reported.

The Real Reason Some LG Repairs Cost More Than You’d Expect

Since LG no longer manufactures replacement parts, screens and batteries for LG phones come from two sources: existing new-old-stock inventory, or parts salvaged/refurbished from other LG devices. Popular models like the LG G7, G8, V40 and V60 still have reasonably available stock. Less common models, or ones with unique features like the V-series dual screen or Wing’s swivel display, can have limited part availability, which pushes cost and repair time up. We check real part availability for your exact model before quoting — not after you’ve already committed.

This isn’t unique to LG — every discontinued phone brand eventually faces this. It’s just more relevant to LG right now than to Samsung, Apple, or Google, whose current-generation phones still have an active manufacturing supply chain.

Try This First — Before You Pay for a Repair

Not every problem needs a paid repair. Here’s what to check yourself first — it costs nothing and takes five minutes:

  1. Charging issues: Use a torch to check the USB-C port for lint or debris. Gently clean with a wooden toothpick (never metal). This resolves a large share of “won’t charge” complaints we see.
  2. Battery drain: Check Settings > Battery for one app draining power in the background before assuming the battery itself has failed.
  3. Black screen but phone still on (rings/vibrates): Try a forced restart (hold Power and Volume Down for about 10 seconds on most LG models). This resolves some software freezes that look like hardware failure.
  4. Slow performance: LG’s software updates stopped after 2021–2023 depending on model, so check Settings > About Phone for your Android version — an outdated OS can cause slowdowns that look like hardware ageing but aren’t.

If none of these fix it, the issue is almost certainly hardware — and that’s where we come in.

HONEST ADVICE

Is Repairing Your LG Phone Actually Worth It?

This is the section where we’re most likely to save you money rather than take it. Here’s the honest breakdown:

SituationWorth repairing?
LG G7/G8/V40/V50/V60, common fault, phone still runs wellYes — parts are reasonably available and cost is well under replacement value
LG Velvet or Wing, screen or battery issueYes, but confirm part availability with us first given lower production volumes
Older K-series or budget LG model, screen crackedMaybe not — repair cost can approach or exceed the value of the phone itself
Any LG model, phone no longer receiving security updates and heavily used dailyWorth discussing — ageing software plus ageing hardware is a case-by-case call
Battery only, phone otherwise in good working conditionYes — almost always the cheapest way to add 1–2 years of life to a phone you already like

Tip

If we don’t have your specific LG model’s parts in stock and sourcing them would cost more than the phone is worth, we’ll tell you that plainly instead of quoting an inflated price to make the job happen. It’s a genuinely different conversation to what you’ll get repairing an iPhone or Samsung, and we think you deserve to know that going in.

FAQ

LG Phone Repair Questions, Answered

Does LG still make phones?

No, LG exited the smartphone business globally in 2021 and hasn’t released a new model since. Existing LG phones are still fully repairable in most cases, but part availability depends on the specific model.

Can you still get parts for LG phones?

Yes, for most popular models like the G7, G8, V40, V50 and V60, parts are still reasonably available. Less common models like the Wing or certain K-series variants may take longer to source — we check this for free before quoting.

How much does it cost to fix an LG phone screen in Brisbane?

LG screen repairs at Case Indulgence Taigum typically range from $99 for budget K-series models to $329 for V-series and Wing models, depending on part availability at the time.

Is it worth repairing my LG phone if LG doesn’t make phones anymore?

In most cases yes, especially for a battery or screen repair on a phone that otherwise still works well. It’s not worth it if the repair cost approaches or exceeds what the phone is currently worth — we’ll tell you honestly which situation applies to you.

How long does an LG phone repair take?

If the part is in stock, most LG screen and battery replacements are completed the same day at our Taigum store. If a part needs to be sourced for a less common model, we’ll give you an honest timeframe upfront.

Will my LG phone still get software or security updates?

Most LG models stopped receiving Android security updates between 2022 and 2024 depending on release date. This doesn’t affect hardware repairs, but it’s worth knowing when deciding how much longer you plan to use the phone.
